It seems like we’re bombarding you lately with all kinds of bits of news… I guess we have a lot going on!
We’re proud to announce the return of our Pie & Pudding offer, albeit it’s slightly different to how we used to run it. We are now offering you the choice of ANY of the pies from our menu, served with mushy peas, chips and gravy, and either a homemade marmalade bread and butter pudding or a homemade fruit crumble, each served with custard, for the special price of only £10.
The offer is only available between 12 and 3, Mondays to Saturdays, but represents a saving of at least £4.30 over the normal separate price.
We’ve also re-introduced another of our winter favourites… Winter Pimms! Available by the glass or the teapot, it is a delicious apple-juice-based beverage that has been popular ever since we introduced it a couple of years ago.
Do we spoil you, or what? xx

The Fleur de Lys has been awarded membership to the prestigious Head Brewer’s Club, awarded by Greene King to it’s best real-ale houses!
John Bexon, Head Brewer at Greene King, has hand-picked 300 of the country’s best real-ale houses for entry into his Head Brewer’s Club. When recently interviewed by The Publican, John Bexon said “Membership of the Head Brewer’s Club means the guarantee of a great pint and top notch service.”

So, first things first… Thanks so much to all of you that came down to our Caribbean Night, especially Delroy who truly made the evening special, entertaining us all as we danced the night away!
Our Bonfire Night will be the next ‘event’ at the pub, and this year we’ll be hoping to make it our most successful yet. The weather wasn’t too kind to us last year, but the fireworks and gigantic bonfire more than made up for it. We’re crossing all of our fingers and toes, though, and hopefully Pete will refrain from sharing his singing voice with the rest of us, so that this year will be a dry one.
We’ll be lighting the bonfire and releasing the fireworks into the heavens on SATURDAY 7th NOVEMBER 2009, from around 7pm onwards. There will be an outdoor BBQ, and for the first time ever entrance will be FREE! However, we will be collecting for BBC Children In Need, and ask that donations are made to help support this wonderful cause. Please give generously!
We’ve moved the location of the bonfire from previous years, so that the ‘top field’ can be used for parking, to ease congestion on the surrounding roads. But we suggest getting here early, if no more to make sure you get a good space than to soak up the atmosphere of what is always an enjoyable evening.
On a final note, you may also have noticed that we’ve now put our Christmas Fayre and Christmas Day menus up here on the website… Click here to find out more.
